Chain Dip was created by a cyclist who was determined to find a better way to maintain a clean and well lubricated bike chain. Unhappy from trying countless paraffin and dirty chain lubricants, a proprietary blend was formulated to get the job done. After years of riding, testing, riding and more testing, we have finally perfected the formula, and now, it’s time to share.

How to Chain Dip

Picture

the prep

Get a new bike chain, or remove and clean your existing chain. We suggest using a removable link to ensure quick and easy removal and chain installation. Also, don't forget to clean your drive train!

the method

,Use a ***Crock-Pot*** on the lowest setting or a wax warmer from a beauty supply store. It takes a while for the wax to melt, so we suggest, setting it up the night before. Leave the chain in the dip and remove the chain from the wax the next morning. Let the chain drip off the excess wax, then, allow it to cool until the wax solidifies.

Do not use a double boiler or Crock-Pot without heat control with Chain Dip. More about this can be found on our blog.

the reward

Install your chain and go for a ride! The chain will fling off a good amount of excess wax at first, don’t worry, it all just brushes off. For best results, we recommend re-applying Chain Dip every 400-500 miles or as needed based on your unique riding conditions.
